Acupuncture and Pain Relief
Acupuncture pain relief: As a healing modality which originates from thousands of years ago, acupuncture is highly effective for treating pain.
What to expect:
I assess the affected areas, the type of pain experienced, as well as your lifestyle habits, before designing a treatment plan customized to your specific needs. I may also inform you of specific lifestyle changes that can be made to prevent your discomfort from being aggravated.
Many of my patients have had frustrating experiences dealing with their pain before visiting. I usually avoid needling areas which are already swollen or painful, and treat areas which are far away from affected areas. This usually produces a better result compared to inserting needles where the pain is.
I stay with you for the duration of the treatment to ensure that any questions and concerns are addressed right away, as opposed to leaving you alone for 20-30 minutes after inserting the needles.
How it works:
Acupuncture works by directing the energy (qi) in your body towards the affected areas and stimulating the healing effects of the body. The appropriate combination of acupuncture points will allow the body to focus its energies on achieving specific effects in specific areas in the body.
